Yes, Vodafone Travel eSIM for the Caribbean provides coverage across 22 island nations and territories throughout the region. That includes popular destinations like Jamaica, Barbados, Dominican Republic, Bahamas, Aruba, Trinidad and Tobago, Cayman Islands, Saint Lucia, and many others. This makes it perfect for island-hopping adventures – whether you're exploring reggae culture in Jamaica, diving in the Caymans, or relaxing on Aruban beaches.

In Jamaica, you'll typically connect to Flow with good coverage in Kingston, Montego Bay, and resort areas. In Barbados, it’ll be Flow with reliable connectivity across the island. Dominican Republic provides connection with Claro, with strong coverage in Punta Cana, Santo Domingo, and Puerto Plata. In Trinidad and Tobago, you'll connect to Digicel. In the Bahamas it’s BTC. Your device automatically selects the strongest available partner network on each island, though coverage quality varies significantly between locations.

Activating your eSIM when you touch down in the Caribbean is easy. 1. Buy your eSIM before you set off. You'll receive your QR code via email immediately, install it at home but it won't activate yet until you reach your travelling destination. 2. Once you arrive in the Caribbean, activate your eSIM and turn on data roaming in your device’s settings. Connection typically takes 1-2 minutes.

Mobile data speeds across Caribbean islands differ depending on where you are. In the resort areas of Aruba, Barbados, Cayman Islands, and Turks and Caicos, you can expect good 4G/LTE speeds of 10-30 Mbps. Major cities like Kingston, Nassau, and Santo Domingo typically offer 15-40 Mbps in downtown areas. More remote islands and rural areas may experience slower 3G speeds of 1-5 Mbps and intermittent connectivity. However, these speeds are generally adequate for messaging, navigation, social media, and email.

It does indeed – our Carribean eSIM provides connectivity for all vacation activities where there’s a connection. In major resort areas, you'll have reliable data for booking excursions, water sports activities, restaurant reservations, and island tours. However, coverage can be limited during boat trips, catamaran cruises, and visits to remote beaches. When snorkeling, diving, or on sunset cruises, you may lose signal once away from shore.

Yes, you’re free to share your data with family and friends on holiday. You can do this by turning your device into a Wi-Fi hotspot via your device’s settings. However, hotspot sharing consumes data quickly, and Caribbean network speeds can be modest. If multiple people simultaneously stream videos or upload large photo albums, you may have slower speeds and you’ll drain your data quicker. For family vacations or group travel, consider getting individual eSIMs or a larger data plan.

Our Caribbean eSIM works across 22 Caribbean islands and territories, so you can hop between places while staying connected. That’s because it automatically connects to local networks on each island within minutes of arrival, allowing you continue using the same data allowance without additional charges. This makes the Caribbean eSIM perfect for cruise passengers visiting multiple ports or travellers doing multi-island vacations.

Yes, our Vodafone Travel eSIM is perfect for cruise passengers visiting multiple Caribbean ports. When your ship docks at each island - whether Jamaica, Cozumel, Grand Cayman, or other ports - your eSIM will automatically connect to local networks, allowing you to stay connected during shore excursions. This is far more affordable than cruise ship WiFi or roaming charges. Note: We do not support maritime services, which means your eSIM will have no coverage at sea - you'll only have connectivity when docked or on land.
